Miguel Alvarez, Ph.D., QME
Miguel Alvarez, Ph.D., QME, with Love & Alvarez Psychology, Inc., is one of three custody evaluators currently on staff serving California and Hawaii. He has worked for over 25 years in various capacities including evaluations, mediation, therapy, and consulting with families going through divorce.
As a bilingual Spanish speaker, his training, experience and practice have always been in high demand within the Hispanic community. He has completed over 800 Independent Medical Evaluations (IME's) for state and federal cases and has extensive experience assessing and treating people with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), chronic pain, and depression while ruling out the potential for malingering.
In past presentations he has spoken about domestic violence, parental substance abuse, the promise of psychedelic medicines in treatment, distinguishing malingering from PTSD, resist/refuse dynamics with child sharing, and cognitive bias. He is a member of, or has been involved with Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC-CA), American Psychological Association (APA), San Diego Family Law Bar Association (SDFLBA), LatinoComp, Long Shore Claims Association, and National Allicance of Professional Psychology Providers (NAPPP).
Dr. Alvarez currently enjoys boating and traveling when he is not consulting with attorneys and their clients on family law matters. |
